Learning the Basics

Inform your students about any beginning of the semester campus workshops or computer orientation sessions your school may offer. For students who have little or no computer back ground this is a good opportunity for them to learn outside of class. While you should assist students with learning the technology your require, you don't want to spend an entire class period teaching one or two students something they could learn in a workshop or lab. If you find that you have students who need extra computer training, recommend tutoring or meet with them during office hours.
